Healing begins in spaces where safety and honesty are possible.

My work centers on creating a steady, compassionate environment where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself, and explore what has felt too heavy to carry alone. Together, we make room for clarity, resilience, and the possibility of a new path forward — one shaped by your values, your pace, and your capacity to heal.

My Approach

My work is rooted in the belief that people heal best in environments where they feel seen, respected, and understood. As a trauma‑informed mental health clinician, I integrate evidence‑based modalities—including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy—within a person‑centered framework. This allows me to tailor treatment to each individual’s needs, history, and strengths rather than relying on a one‑size‑fits‑all model.

My Background

My clinical background spans inpatient and outpatient substance abuse programs, PMIC residential care, correctional mental health, and private practice. These experiences have shaped a grounded, practical approach to therapy—one that honors both the realities of systemic barriers and the resilience people bring to their healing.

Advocacy is a core part of my work. I have served on several boards and coalitions focused on child welfare, LGBTQ+ rights, and community mental health, including the Child Abuse Prevention Council, One Iowa, the LGBTQ Advisory Council for the Des Moines Civil and Human Rights Coalition, and the advisory board for New Beginnings Counseling Service. I am currently a trainer for the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention. This involvement keeps my practice connected to the broader systems that affect clients’ lives and reinforces my commitment to equity‑centered care.
